Chiropractic takes a structural, nutritional, and emotional approach to health care. The chiropractor aims to gently restore the natural and delicate balance that exists in all healthy individuals. Misalignments in the spine can cause inflammation and pain with pressure on the nerves, joints and muscles. Chiropractors move these bones back in a variety of ways.
I use my hands for a technique called Soft Tissue Manipulation. Soft Tissue Manipulation focuses on the tendons which attach muscles to bone and the ligaments which attach bone to bone. These areas may become shortened or spasmodic by your posture, diet, trauma, and hydration. Your soft tissue, muscle, ligaments, tendons, can cause undo pressure or pulling on these structures and therefore affect the bones. After the bones are affected the imbalance begins causing misalignments and eventually pain. There is usually no popping sound with this technique.
